Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is seeking a Senior Fixed Asset Accounting & Controls Manager for a 6-month, on-site assignment in Conroe, TX. You will lead fixed asset accounting, depreciation, CIP, and reconciliations while driving strong internal controls.

Applicants should have 5+ years in fixed asset accounting, U.S. GAAP expertise, and experience with asset verifications. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and audit remediation will be key components of this role.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with significant exposure to fixed asset accounting and controls.
• Experience with fixed asset reconciliations, capitalization, depreciation, and CIP accounting.
• Experience performing or coordinating physical asset verification and inventory counts.
• Background in audit remediation, internal controls, and accounting process improvement.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Experience in asset-intensive industries preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee fixed asset accounting activities, including asset additions, transfers, disposals, and reconciliations.
• Review and oversee capitalization, depreciation, and Construction in Progress (CIP) accounting.
• Perform and coordinate physical asset verification and inventory counts, ensuring records are complete and accurate.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies between physical assets and accounting records.
• Support audit remediation efforts and strengthen internal accounting controls and processes.
• Analyze accounting activity and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP.
• Partner with Accounting, Operations, Audit, and other cross-functional teams to investigate issues and implement solutions.
• Assist with process improvements designed to enhance the accuracy, consistency, and control of fixed asset accounting.
• Prepare and maintain documentation and schedules to support internal and external audits.
