Job summary

Discovery Senior Living is seeking a Senior Accountant, Fixed Assets to manage the full fixed asset lifecycle across its portfolio of ~450 communities in 40+ states. You will maintain the fixed asset subledger in Yardi 8, oversee capitalization and depreciation, and ensure accurate recordings in GAAP.

The role reports to the Shared Services Controller and requires strong Excel skills and multi-entity reconciliations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience with fixed asset or property accounting.
• Experience with Yardi 8 fixed asset modules.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (rollforwards, pivots, multi-entity reconciliations).
• Knowledge of GAAP capitalization standards and ASC 360.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile fixed asset subledger in Yardi 8 for all entities.
• Record asset additions, disposals, transfers, write-offs, and impairments.
• Calculate depreciation and post monthly depreciation entries.
• Prepare asset capitalization assessments and CIP tracking.
• Produce fixed asset rollforwards and schedules for close and audits.
• Support audits and tax depreciation processes.
• Identify process improvements for scalable asset management.
