Discovery Senior Living seeks a Senior Accountant, Fixed Assets to manage the full fixed asset lifecycle across its portfolio of senior living communities. You will maintain the fixed asset subledger, oversee capitalization and depreciation, and ensure accurate reporting in GAAP alignment using Yardi 8 and Excel.

The role emphasizes asset additions, disposals, and transfers with monthly reconciliation to the general ledger and collaboration with senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Strong GAAP knowledge and ASC 360 understanding.
• Experience with fixed asset accounting in multi-entity environments.
• Advanced Excel skills for fixed asset rollforwards and reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile fixed asset subledger in Yardi 8 for all entities.
• Record asset additions, disposals, transfers, write-offs and impairments.
• Ensure capitalization vs. expense decisions per policy; track CIP and placements.
• Prepare depreciation entries and maintain depreciation schedules.
• Produce fixed asset rollforwards and related schedules for close and audits.
