Job summary

Helmerich and Payne is seeking a Senior Accountant - Fixed Assets to maintain the accuracy of fixed asset records and support capital project accounting in Tulsa. You will ensure GAAP compliance, prepare journal entries, reconcile sub-ledgers, and drive enhancements through automation.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance, 5+ years of fixed asset experience, strong Excel skills, and a proactive mindset aligned with H&P's Core Values. Onsite work in Tulsa, OK.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience; fixed asset accounting preferred.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and fixed asset accounting principles.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the fixed asset subledger, ensuring accurate capitalization, depreciation, transfers, retirements, and disposals.
• Reconcile the fixed asset subledger to the general ledger and ensure the accuracy and completeness of fixed asset balances.
• Partner with project managers and stakeholders to monitor capital project costs and proper accounting treatment.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries and supporting analyses for fixed assets and capital expenditures.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and company policies related to capitalization thresholds and asset classifications.
• Maintain fixed asset procedures, narratives, controls, and documentation.
• Support audits and provide timely information related to fixed assets and projects.
• Develop ad hoc reports and perform financial analyses for management decisions.
