Job summary

Helmerich and Payne in Tulsa, OK is seeking a Senior Accountant – Fixed Assets to maintain asset records, support capital project accounting, and ensure GAAP compliance. You will collaborate with project managers and cross-functional teams to drive accuracy and efficiency in depreciation, transfers, and disposals.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Accounting and 5+ years of fixed asset experience, strong analytical skills, and proficiency with ERP systems (Oracle preferred) and Excel.

Qualifications

• 5+ years progressive accounting experience, fixed asset focus preferred.
• Strong U.S. GAAP knowledge and fixed asset accounting principles.
• Experience with ERP systems; Oracle preferred.
• Advanced Excel and MS Office skills.
• Analytical, organized, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain fixed asset subledger including capitalization, depreciation, transfers, retirements, and disposals.
• Reconcile fixed asset subledger to general ledger and ensure balance accuracy.
• Collaborate with project managers to monitor capital costs and proper accounting treatment.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual journal entries, reconciliations, schedules, and analyses.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and company policies for depreciation methodologies.
• Maintain fixed asset procedures, narratives, internal controls, and documentation.
• Support audits with timely, accurate information related to fixed assets and capital projects.
• Develop ad hoc reports and provide financial analyses and insights.
• Design and implement automation to improve processes and controls.
• Identify opportunities to automate and streamline accounting workflows.
