At a Glance:

The Senior Accountant – Fixed Assets is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the Company's fixed asset accounting records and related financial reporting. This role supports capital project accounting, ensures compliance with GAAP and Company policies, drives process improvements through automation and innovation, and collaborates across functions to support business objectives. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented accounting professional who demonstrates strong analytical skills, a continuous improvement mindset, and a commitment to H&P's Core Values.

What you will do:

• Maintain the fixed asset subledger, ensuring accurate capitalization, depreciation, transfers, retirements, and disposals.
• Reconcile the fixed asset subledger to the general ledger and ensure the accuracy and completeness of fixed asset balances.
• Partner closely with project managers and business stakeholders to monitor capital project costs and ensure proper accounting treatment.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries, account reconciliations, schedules, and supporting analyses related to fixed assets and capital expenditures.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and Company policies related to capitalization thresholds, asset classifications, useful lives, and depreciation methodologies.
• Maintain fixed asset accounting procedures, narratives, internal controls, and supporting documentation.
• Support internal and external audit requests and provide timely, accurate information related to fixed assets and capital projects.
• Develop ad hoc reports and perform financial analyses, including trend analysis, interpretation of results, and recommendations for management decision-making.

What you need:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience required; fixed asset accounting experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and fixed asset accounting principles.
• Experience with ERP systems; Oracle experience preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Demonstrated experience with process improvement, automation initiatives, or technology-driven accounting solutions preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Self-motivated with a proactive approach to learning and continuous improvement.
