Job summary

UW Medical Center – Northwest is seeking a Fiscal Specialist 2 to provide fiscal, payroll, and administrative support for the Environmental Services department. Responsibilities include processing payroll, reviewing timesheets, and generating financial and operational reports in a compliant environment.

The role requires at least two years of related experience and accounting coursework, with proficiency in UKG, Epic, Ariba, and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience equivalent to Fiscal Specialist I.
• Completion of 15 quarter credits or 10 semester credits of college-level accounting coursework, or equivalent education and experience.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for stated requirements.

Responsibilities

• Process employee payroll, leave entitlements, orientation hours, payroll corrections, and status changes.
• Review timesheets, resolve payroll exceptions, and reconcile FTE allocations to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
• Monitor financial records and respond to payroll and fiscal inquiries in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Prepare payroll, fiscal, and operational reports and assist with budget forecasting and departmental planning.
• Process invoices and travel-related transactions through Ariba and maintain vendor records and supporting documentation.
• Analyze payroll and financial data, identify issues, and recommend process improvements.
• Serve as secondary administrative support for the Environmental Services department.
• Answer multi-line phones, route calls, respond to inquiries, and provide customer service to staff, patients, and visitors.
• Maintain electronic and manual filing systems and support departmental reports, projects, and committee activities.
• Utilize systems including UKG, Epic, Ariba, Microsoft Office, and other databases to support daily operations and ensure compliance with UW Medicine policies and procedures.
