Job summary

UW Medical Center-Northwest in Seattle seeks a Fiscal Specialist for a full-time, 40-hour-per-week role in the Surgical Services Department. This temporary position runs 11/01/26 through 03/01/27 and focuses on timekeeping, payroll processing, and fiscal record keeping using Workday and UKG.

You will implement staffing schedules, reconcile hours, and provide day-to-day timekeeping support for leadership and staff while serving as a payroll SME within a collaborative healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience at a level equivalent to Fiscal Specialist 1
• 15 quarter hours or 10 semester hours of college level accounting.
• Equivalent education/experience.

Responsibilities

• Support timekeeping, absence and payroll processing to ensure policy compliance.
• Implement staffing schedules into UKG.
• Provide day-to-day timekeeping maintenance for leadership and employees.
• Guide timekeeping in UKG, review time input and corrections.
• Validate reported hours versus hours paid with timekeepers and managers.
• Reconcile 40/80/160/240 hour FTE salaries to work rules.
• Assist leadership with productivity analysis, budgeting and staffing data.
• Serve as subject-matter expert for timekeeping and payroll functions.
• Maintain fiscal records, databases and spreadsheets; identify trends and actions.
• Foster strong customer-service with surgical services leadership, HR and payroll.
