Job summary

City of Chicago Department of Law seeks a Fiscal Administrator to manage fiscal, budgetary, and accounting functions for OPSA-Finance. You will lead complex financial analyses, develop controls, and supervise staff as required.

The role targets ensuring accurate revenue and cost reporting while guiding department managers on program finance decisions. Requirements include advanced degrees in accounting/finance and substantial supervisory experience; residency in Chicago area preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Two pathways: with 15 semester hours in Accounting/Finance plus seven years’ experience; or Master’s with 15 hours plus four years’ supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Develops procedures and financial controls for department funds.
• Supervises compilation and analysis of expenditure data and budget requests.
• Prepares revenue estimates and justifications for new positions/equipment.
• Performs cost/benefit analyses with department managers to improve efficiency.
• Directs purchase requisitions and processing of invoices for payment.
• Reviews revenue collection, payroll costs, and financial reports for accuracy.
