Job summary

Department of Revenue in Washington State is seeking a Fiscal Analyst 3 to perform senior-level financial review of accounts payable and related processes. The role includes preparing accruals, analyzing payments for compliance with SAAM, RCW and IRS regulations, and ensuring strong internal controls.

Training may require office presence up to 5 days/week for the first 6 months, with potential for hybrid work afterward.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of GAAP and SAAM in accounts payable processes.
• Ability to apply compliance with SAAM, RCW, and IRS regulations.
• Strong financial analysis and data interpretation.
• Ability to communicate accounting concepts to financial and non-financial audiences.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly expenditure and Unclaimed Property accruals.
• Review and analyze vendor and employee payments for compliance with SAAM, DOR policies and RCW/IRS rules.
• Ensure proper accounting procedures and controls in payments to employees and vendors.
• Analyze financial transactions for monthly and year-end reporting.
• Prepare complex Journal Vouchers to adjust/payables errors.
• Manage interagency payments and billing responsibilities.
• Oversee monthly payments to US Bank for agency credit cards and travel/ purchasing cards.
