Job summary

First Horizon Bank is seeking a Senior First Line Risk & Control Officer to lead risk and control programs within the first line of defense. You will design risk controls, mature the control inventory, and govern assessment cycles, while driving issue resolution and engaging regulators.

The role partners with business leaders to anticipate risk, produce actionable risk reporting, and elevate risk culture across the organization.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in banking or regulated financial institution.
• 10+ years in risk management or control disciplines.
• Proven track record designing or maturing risk programs.
• Advanced knowledge of consumer and small business banking processes.
• Strong command of the three lines of defense model.

Responsibilities

• Lead the first line issue lifecycle and ensure durable remediation.
• Direct risk events capture, triage, and escalation.
• Own RCSA execution across risk units.
• Set and apply first line control standards and maintain inventory.
• Partner with business leaders to identify emerging risks.
• Represent the first line to regulators and internal audit.
• Shape risk reporting and drive risk culture.
