The role blends strategic program leadership with live operating risk management, partnering with business leaders and regulators to maintain a robust control environment.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in banking or regulated financial institution.
• Direct experience in risk management or first line risk and control.

Responsibilities

• Lead the first line issue lifecycle across business verticals, including validation, root cause analysis, action plan design, ownership, escalation and sustainability validation.
• Direct capture, triage, and escalation of risk events; lead root cause analysis and thematic analysis for control improvements.
• Own RCSA execution across risk units, mapping processes to risks and controls, challenging residual risk, driving remediation.
• Set and apply first line control standards, ensure control design is documented and maintained, and assess design/operating effectiveness.
• Partner with business leaders to anticipate emerging risk and guide risk and control staff.
• Represent the first line to regulators and internal audit, coordinating responses and monitoring regulatory changes.
• Shape risk reporting and indicators for senior leadership and drive risk culture across first line.
