Job summary

Eight Sleep is seeking a Senior Firmware Engineer in San Francisco to lead firmware design for the Pod hardware. You will bring up sensors, collaborate with hardware teams, and drive the evolution of our firmware tooling and testing processes.

You should have 5+ years of firmware experience in C/C++, with Python or NodeJS tooling, and be comfortable working across compute-constrained environments and hardware interfaces. Travel to China is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on firmware in C/C++.
• Experience with client or test tooling in Python or NodeJS.
• Experience in developin for compute-constrained, low-memory environments.
• Hardware bring-up and debugging using datasheets/schematics.
• Willingness to travel regularly to China for team support.

Responsibilities

• Pioneer and implement cutting-edge sensor technologies for health monitoring.
• Collaborate with hardware teams to guide prototyping and production hardware designs.
• Lead transformation of firmware development with advanced standards and tooling.
• Develop tests and ensure high-quality firmware for production pods.
• Communicate effectively in a mixed in-person and remote work environment.
