Job summary
Lightmatter is seeking a highly skilled SDET to lead firmware test automation for photonic hardware. You will design and implement automation frameworks, integrate tests with CI/CD, and collaborate with firmware and software teams to ensure robust, production-grade testing across devices and racks.
You will work at the intersection of firmware, hardware, and software, mentoring peers and shaping testability early in design.
Qualifications
- 8+ years in professional software development for embedded products.
- Experience designing test frameworks and infrastructure.
- Strong Python and embedded C/C++ skills.
- Experience owning CI/CD pipelines for hardware tests.
- BS or MS in CS/EE or equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Own architecture and roadmap of firmware test automation.
- Design and build automation for new firmware features.
- Build and operate HIL test infrastructure.
- Define test strategy and lead reviews across teams.
- Integrate firmware testing into CI/CD so every change is built and tested on hardware.
- Mentor engineers on test architecture and documentation.
