Job summary

Lightmatter, Inc. is seeking a Staff / Sr. Staff HW Test Automation Engineer to drive automated test software for photonics hardware.

You will build test frameworks, control instruments, and develop data pipelines to ensure reliable bring-up and production testing of Lightmatter chips. You will work across bench and ATE environments, collaborating with hardware, characterization, and manufacturing teams to translate device physics into repeatable software solutions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field required.
8+ years in hardware test software, ATE systems, or test architecture.
Track record of owning test software architecture across products.
Deep hands-on with ATE test methods and embedded test frameworks.
Experience mentoring engineers and driving cross-functional decisions.
Able to articulate end-to-end automation projects.
Comfortable reading embedded software/C/C++.

Responsibilities

Learn the hardware to inform software decisions.
Design and build test software for bring-up, characterization, and production test.
Develop and maintain test methods and instrument control code.
Collaborate with hardware/characterization engineers to meet needs.
Build data logging and results pipelines for test data.
Debug integration issues across device, fixture, instrument, and test code.
Support test program releases to internal and external cells.
Communicate progress and work hands-on in the lab.
