Lightmatter is hiring a Chip Firmware Validation Engineer to help build the next generation of photonic AI processors and interconnects. You will develop and validate the device software/firmware stack for Photonic Compute and Interconnect products, collaborating with software and hardware teams to optimize firmware and perform validation and reliability testing.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years of ASIC firmware validation experience.
• Strong understanding of hardware-software integration and embedded systems.
• Experience developing firmware/software on Linux and using Git/CMake tooling.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with photonics, analog, digital, systems, and network experts to define control architecture.
• Drive software and firmware validation testing for photonic products.
• Debug and troubleshoot embedded systems using GDB, JTAG, and logic analyzers.
• Define validation test plans and gather requirements for usability criteria.
