The position includes upgrading systems and resolving fire code deficiencies within a DOE/DoD nuclear propulsion context.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical, engineering or science field plus 6+ years of relevant experience; or Masters with 4+ years; or Doctorate with 1+ years; or currently a Senior Reactor Training Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or Field (RPCO) Engineer at Naval Nuclear Laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Manage facility fire protection systems, including detection, suppression, and communications.
• Perform engineering evaluations and provide project engineering support and development.
• Upgrade to more effective fire protection systems and address fire code deficiencies.
