Job summary
BB&E Consulting Engineers and Professionals is seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to provide design support for NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic at Norfolk Naval Station. You will address life safety, fire protection systems, and related facilities projects with a focus on compliance and safety.
The role requires PE licensure in Fire Protection Engineering, 10+ years of relevant experience, and strong DoD standards knowledge.
Qualifications
- Registration as Professional Engineer in Fire Protection Engineering is required.
- Extensive knowledge of DoD/Navy guide specs, UFC, NFPA, IBC/IMC/IRC standards.
- Bachelor's or master's in mechanical or fire protection engineering with relevant hands-on facilities design experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide independent, timely fire protection engineering support for Navy and other commands.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure system coordination.
- Lead projects involving life safety, sprinkler, fire alarm, and mass notification systems.
- Prepare written analyses and recommendations for design decisions.
