The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to strengthen the site fire protection program and support the safety and reliability of naval propulsion facilities.

Responsibilities include inspecting, testing, and maintaining systems, reviewing designs for code conformance, and performing analyses to guide improvements. A related engineering degree with years of experience is required.

Qualifikationen

• Must have knowledge of NYS Building Code and NFPA standards.
• Experience in designing and maintaining fire protection systems.
• Understanding of electrical control circuits and fire alarm controls.
• Experience creating engineering documents (analyses, specs, requirements, drawings).
• Ability to work in multi-discipline teams and communicate effectively.

• Maintain and improve fire protection systems and life safety features.
• Review facility designs for code conformance and perform evaluations.
• Develop fire hazard analyses and facility assessments.
• Plan improvements aligned to site mission and operations.
• Support FP service subcontracts and coordination with SCWA.
