Job summary

GHD in Orlando, FL is seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to lead full-service fire protection and life safety projects for private and public clients, including federal facilities. You will collaborate with a Revit design team and develop technical documentation across all project phases.

The ideal candidate has 10–20 years of experience, a PE license, and deep NFPA/ICC knowledge. This role offers a hybrid work model with in-office collaboration several days a week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or ABET-equivalent.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 10–20 years in fire protection evaluation and design.
• Strong NFPA and ICC code knowledge.
• Experience with fire alarm/suppression systems design documents.
• Leadership in project life cycle from bids to client management.
• Mentoring for graduates and EIT engineers.
• Willing to travel up to 10% to sites and meetings.
• DoD/government project experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead fire protection system design and life safety consulting projects.
• Coordinate with RevIt design team for fire protection systems.
• Prepare life safety analyses, reports, and code findings.
• Develop narratives, memos, drawings, and specs.
• Manage projects and collaborate across disciplines.
• Support business development and proposal activities.
