Job summary
Jacobs is seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to join our Cities & Places team. You will lead the design of fire sprinkler, suppression, fire alarm and life-safety systems, directing design staff and delivering complex buildings across regions locally, nationally, and around the world.
The ideal candidate has a PE in any U.S. state, a Bachelor's in Fire Protection Engineering or related field, 15+ years of experience, and is eligible to work in the U.S. Travel is expected to 10–15%.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Safety Technology or related discipline
- 15+ years of related professional experience
- PE in any U.S. state, having passed the fire protection engineering examination
- Not needing visa sponsorship now or in the future to work in the U.S.
Responsibilities
- Lead design of fire sprinkler, suppression, and fire alarm systems
- Direct activities of design staff to produce drawings and calculations
- Ensure compliance with NFPA and ICC codes and standards
- Collaborate with teams on projects across multiple markets and locations
