Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to join our Cities & Places team in the U.S. You will work with licensed engineers to design fire sprinkler, suppression, and life-safety systems, performing code analyses and delivering projects globally.

Requires a Bachelor's in a related field, 15+ years experience, and PE license. Travel ~10-15%; sponsorship not required. Jacobs offers comprehensive health, 401(k), stock purchase, PPTO, holidays and bonus potential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Safety Technology or other related discipline.
• At least 15 years of related professional experience.
• PE in any U.S. State, having passed the fire protection engineering examination.
• Will not now or in the future require sponsorship for an employment visa (examples H-1B, L-1B, or other temporary visa status like OPT or F-1) to work for Jacobs in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Direct the activities of design staff to produce drawings and calculations for fire sprinkler systems, special hazards suppression systems, fire pumps, fire alarm and mass notification, and building/life safety codes analysis.
• Deliver and complete challenging and engaging buildings projects across many markets with our Cities & Places business, in various regions locally, nationally, and globally.
• Collaborate with teams to apply NFPA Codes and International Building/Fire Codes and coordinate with other disciplines.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Safety Technology or other related discipline
