Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a talented Fire Protection Engineer to join our team. You will develop fire protection designs, perform life safety analyses, and review drafts to ensure NFPA and UFC compliance for federal and commercial projects.

The role offers a hybrid work environment with multiple U.S. office locations and opportunities to collaborate with sales and project teams on client proposals. Travel may be required as projects dictate.

Qualifications

• 7 years of related experience.
• PE license required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Architectural or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive fire protection engineering designs and drawings.
• Act as QFPE for federal projects and perform life safety analysis.
• Review designs for compliance with NFPA/UFC and local regulations.
• Collaborate with sales to respond to RFPs and create proposals.
• Meet with clients to review design needs and provide guidance.
• Perform site assessments to ensure alignment with industry standards.
