Job summary

Atlantic Constructors is seeking a Fire Protection Design Manager to lead the design and BIM aspects for our sprinkler projects. You will supervise designers, review drawings for NFPA compliance, and coordinate material submittals, hydrualic calculations, and shop drawings with A/E partners.

You will manage project teams, ensure adherence to codes and specs, and support the FP sales team with bid takeoffs as needed. Strong leadership and communication required.

Qualifications

• The candidate has 5–7 years of experience in fire protection design and/or related work.
• Prior supervisory or management experience is required.
• NICET Level II certification is preferred but not required.
• Solid understanding of NFPA codes and local jurisdiction requirements.
• Ability to interpret architectural drawings and project specifications.
• Proficient in Windows-based CAD and fire protection design software; strong MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee design/BIM aspects for new construction sprinkler projects.
• Manage project duties and delegate tasks to team members.
• Ensure designs comply with NFPA codes and project specs.
• Review material submittals and hydraulic calculations for compliance.
• Coordinate with suppliers, field staff, and A/E partners.
• Supervise designers and monitor design hours for profitability.
