Job summary
Atlantic Constructors Inc. is seeking a dynamic Fire Protection Design Manager to oversee design and BIM activities for our sprinkler projects. You will supervise a design team, review drawings and hydraulic calculations, and ensure NFPA compliance across multiple projects.
The role requires experience in fire protection design and prior supervisory duties, with NICET II certification preferred. Relocation to Richmond, VA is offered, with customer site coordination and strong collaboration
Qualifications
- 5-7 years of experience in fire protection design or equivalent
- Prior supervisor/management experience
- NICET Level II certification (preferred)
- Understanding of NFPA and local jurisdiction requirements
- Ability to interpret architect drawings/specifications
- Proficient in Windows-based CAD, AutoCAD design software
Responsibilities
- Provide general supervision of all design/BIM aspects for new construction sprinkler projects
- Review design drawings for NFPA code compliance and project specs
- Review material submittals and hydraulic calculations for NFPA compliance
- Coordinate material delivery with customer and field superintendent
- Supervise design staff and monitor design hours and efficiency
- Lead kickoff meetings and coordinate with FP service staff on small projects
- Review and approve vendor invoices and manage permits with AHJ
