Job summary
Atlantic Constructors is seeking a Fire Protection Design Manager to oversee the design/BIM aspects of our sprinkler projects. The role requires supervising designers, reviewing drawings for NFPA compliance, and coordinating material submittals and shop drawings with A/E partners.
The position is based at our headquarters with relocation assistance offered to candidates willing to relocate to Richmond, VA. A strong background in fire protection design and supervisory experience is essential,
Qualifications
- 5-7 years of experience in fire protection design or equivalent
- Prior supervisory/management experience
- Understanding of NFPA codes and jurisdiction requirements
- Ability to interpret architect drawings and specs
- Proficient with Windows-based CAD and AutoCAD design software
- Strong organizational and communication skills
Responsibilities
- Provide project supervision for fire protection design on new construction sprinkler projects
- Review drawings and submittals for NFPA code compliance
- Coordinate material lists and deliveries with field teams
- Lead design reviews and resolve conflicts with A/E partners
- Maintain design files and support FP sales with take-off as needed
- Ensure safety procedures and incident reporting are followed
- Participate in department meetings and manage design hours for profitability
