Job summary

Hargrove Engineers + Constructors is seeking an experienced mechanical engineer to lead complete design efforts for complex projects in the Mobile, AL area. You will develop layouts, perform stress analyses, and prepare construction drawings and specifications to meet client requirements.

The role requires strong knowledge of piping, HVAC, standards, and estimation processes, with opportunities to supervise a small team and collaborate across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university is required.
• Professional Engineering registration is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete mechanical design of complex assignments under supervision.
• Develop conceptual layouts and cost studies for efficient solutions.
• Produce preliminary designs and material take-offs for estimates.
• Create detailed design calculations and construction documents.
• Review vendor drawings and other discipline inputs for consistency.
• Provide field support, startup assistance, and site data collection.
• Lead small teams, coordinate with discipline leads, and deliver on schedule.
• Estimate construction quantities and assist in project cost control.
