Job summary

Hargrove Engineers + Constructors in Memphis, TN seeks a mechanical engineer with 6+ years of industrial experience to perform complete design work on complex projects. You will develop conceptual layouts, preliminary designs and detailed drawings for construction, while coordinating with drafting and other disciplines to ensure timely delivery.

The role requires strong knowledge of piping, HVAC and process systems, plus ability to estimate quantities and build cost estimates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Professional Engineering registration is highly preferred.
• 6+ years of relevant industrial mechanical engineering experience.
• Knowledge of design standards, codes and material specifications.
• Ability to estimate construction quantities and develop cost estimates.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete mechanical design for complex assignments under supervision.
• Develop conceptual layouts, preliminary designs and material take-offs.
• Produce detailed design calculations and drawings for construction.
• Coordinate with drafting and other disciplines to ensure timely delivery.
• Review vendor and discipline drawings for mechanical input and accuracy.
• Provide field support during startup and construction activities.
• Lead small teams to deliver on commitments and manage work packages.
