Job summary

Henderson Engineers is seeking a Senior Fire Engineer in New York City to design complex building systems, prepare design documents, and lead engineering teams. You will mentor staff, participate in business development, and oversee quality across projects.

The role requires a PE license, a relevant engineering degree, and experience with Revit and Bluebeam Revu. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential in this client‑facing, national practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering; 12 years of relevant experience and a PE license required.
• PE license required; multiple certifications aligned with sustainability preferred (e.g., CDP, LEED).
• FE exam completion preferred; strong proficiency in engineering design software.
• Proficiency with Revit and Bluebeam Revu to support design and review workflows.

Responsibilities

• Directs the preparation of design documents, layouts, drawings, schematics and specifications.
• Leads project efforts from concept through completion and coordinates with project teams.
• Mentors less experienced designers and engineers, providing technical guidance and leadership.
• Ensures drawings and analyses meet scope, schedule, cost and quality requirements.
• Develops and maintains relationships with partners and clients to expand opportunities.
