Job summary

Everforth Apex is seeking a Senior FinOps Engineer to optimize cloud spend in a primarily remote role with quarterly onsite interactions. You will collaborate with FinOps Analysts to mature automation, deploy Python-based solutions, and drive cost-saving initiatives across AWS workloads.

You will own automation projects, build dashboards, and implement tagging standards while maintaining cost visibility for internal consumers. A strong FinOps mindset and hands-on cloud experience are key.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Proven experience in cloud cost optimization with direct savings.
Proficiency in Python for automation/integration tasks.
Experience with AWS core services and Cost Explorer.
Familiarity with Git-based workflows.

Responsibilities

Own FinOps automation initiatives and advance engineering capabilities.
Automate cleanup of unused resources and coordinate merges across teams.
Drive on-demand optimization and enforce cloud storage lifecycle policies.
Lead enterprise architecture migrations for cloud workloads/serverless functions.
Develop Python-based automation and integrations via infrastructure templates.
Build cloud cost dashboards and reporting to trace usage to consumers.
Query cost/usage data to identify saving opportunities.
Automate resource tagging standards and reporting.
