Peraton is seeking a Senior Cloud FinOps Engineer to own end-to-end cloud cost management across a multi-environment AWS platform supporting 50+ developers, 20 business analysts, and government staff. You will forecast consumption, rightsize resources, and enforce budgets within a FedRAMP-compliant federal program.

You will manage AWS budgets, cost Explorer, and anomaly detection while tracking AI/ML costs and delivering recurring cost reports to stakeholders.

Formación

• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.
• All work performed within the United States; no international work.
• Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of professional experience, or higher degrees with corresponding experience.
• 5+ years hands-on cloud engineering with at least 2 years FinOps.
• Knowledge of FinOps Foundation Best Practices and tagging strategies.
• Experience managing AWS cost attribution, budgets, and reporting in multi-account environments.
• Ability to build recurring cloud consumption reports and cost optimization deliverables.
• Advanced proficiency with AWS Cost Management tools (Cost Explorer, Budgets, Cost Anomaly Detection, Trusted Advisor).
• Understanding of Bedrock or other LLM/AI token-based cost models; Databricks cost management experience.
• Experience with FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST SP 800-53 compliance requirements.
• Certifications: AWS CSA/DevOps Professional, FinOps Engineer or FinOps AI Value (or ability to obtain within 90 days).

Responsabilidades

• Produce monthly FinOps reports with consumption forecasts vs. actuals and government-facing chargeback views.
• Configure and manage AWS Budgets, Cost Explorer, Cost Anomaly Detection, and Trusted Advisor.
• Develop quarterly rightsizing packages and present optimization strategies to stakeholders.
• Implement auto-suspend policies for non-production environments to reduce idle costs.
• Manage AI/ML cost tracking for Amazon Bedrock LLM inference and token consumption.
• Issue Limitation of Funds notices at 75% consumption and provide 60-day forecast warnings.
• Maintain compliance with FedRAMP Moderate, FISMA, and NIST SP 800-53; complete annual security awareness training.
• Collaborate with government stakeholders and data teams to improve cost transparency.
