Job summary

AHEAD is seeking a Senior Cloud FinOps Engineer to lead complex cloud financial management across multiple clients. You will drive cost optimization, governance, and reporting, working directly with executives to translate cloud spend into business value.

Role requires deep cloud finance expertise, strong communication, and ability to mentor engineers while delivering repeatable, scalable FinOps solutions. Remote within the United States with travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in IT, finance, business, or related field.
• 5+ years in cloud engineering, cloud operations, infra, or FinOps.
• 3+ years in customer-facing roles presenting findings to technical and business audiences.
• Hands-on experience with multi-account, multi-subscription cloud environments.
• Strong knowledge of at least one major cloud: AWS/Azure/GCP.

Responsibilities

• Lead cloud cost analysis, usage trends, allocation accuracy, and optimization opportunities across AWS/Azure/GCP.
• Define and maintain unit economics and cost-per-unit metrics tied to business drivers.
• Create dashboards, budgets, forecasts, showbacks, and executive summaries.
• Conduct data validation across billing exports and reporting models; improve trust in values.
• Maintain tagging governance and client FinOps tooling; ensure accurate reporting.
