Job summary

American Honda Motor Co., Inc. seeks a Senior Accounting Specialist in Torrance, CA to support North American consolidation, research IFRS and U.S. GAAP issues, and coordinate financial reporting across Honda entities.

You will lead near-term close processes, prepare journal entries, and ensure SOX controls while collaborating with audit teams and internal partners to drive accurate, timely reporting and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or eligibility preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience across public accounting and private industry.
• Thorough knowledge of IFRS, U.S. GAAP, and multi-entity consolidations.
• Advanced Excel financial modeling proficiency and ERP experience.
• Strong analytical, writing, and cross-functional communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare North American financial close, consolidation, and intercompany eliminations.
• Research, analyze, and draft technical accounting memorandums under IFRS and U.S. GAAP.
• Execute consolidated journal entries and SOX internal controls.
• Coordinate audit evidence with external auditors and parent company teams.
• Implement accounting automation tools to modernize reporting and shorten close cycles.
