Job summary

American Honda Finance Corp. is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst for its Accounting Operations division in Torrance.

The role focuses on end-to-end credit loss analytics, reserve forecasting, and IFRS/US GAAP compliance under SOX controls, with automation and data-analytics project work for cross-functional teams. You will develop econometric credit loss models, prepare footnotes and disclosures for SEC filings, and support audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, statistics, mathematics, data science, or a related business field required.
• Preferred certifications: CFA, CPA, CMA, MBA
• Minimum of 5+ years of progressive professional experience in forecasting credit losses for consumer and dealer finance portfolios.
• Experience in data analytics, financial modeling, corporate finance, and financial planning preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Office Suite, ERP systems (SAP, Business Objects, Oracle).
• Proficiency in programming languages (Python, R, SAS) and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI).
• Progressively develop and refine new forms of data analytics to capture potential risks and communicate results to management.

Responsibilities

• Process/validate credit loss forecast models under SOX controls and prepare monthly/quarterly credit loss reserve reporting.
• Perform analytics on originations, delinquency, net charge-off, probability of default, loss.
• Develop econometric credit loss forecast models and automated workflow applications.
• Prepare quarter-end footnotes and public debt disclosures related to credit loss and fair value of portfolios for SEC / 10K reporting.
• Provide credit loss reserve forecasts to corporate planning department.
• Perform analytics on quarterly balance sheet and income statement financials.
• Provide data analytics and support explanations for internal SOX and external audits.

Job Purpose

American Honda Finance is currently seeking a Sr. Financial Analyst for our Accounting Operations division.

The Sr. Financial Analyst will perform end-to-end credit loss analytics, allowance estimation, and financial forecast model administration/development for both US and Canadian consumer finance portfolios, per USGAAP and IFRS accounting standards under internal SOX controls, while also developing automated workflow applications, supporting data & analytics project initiatives, providing audit-ready data packages, and communicating insights to committees, management, and cross-functional teams.

Key Accountabilities
