Job summary

American Honda Motor Co., Inc. seeks a Senior Accounting Specialist in Torrance, CA to support North American consolidation, research IFRS and U.S. GAAP issues, and coordinate financial reporting across Honda entities.

You will lead near-term close processes, prepare journal entries, and ensure SOX controls while collaborating with audit teams and internal partners to drive accurate, timely reporting and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or eligibility preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience across public accounting and private industry.
• Thorough knowledge of IFRS, U.S. GAAP, and multi-entity consolidations.
• Advanced Excel financial modeling proficiency and ERP experience.
• Strong analytical, writing, and cross-functional communication skills.

Responsibilities

About the Role:

American Honda Motor Co., Inc. is seeking a Senior Accounting Specialist in Torrance, CA. You will support North American financial consolidation, research complex IFRS and U.S. GAAP technical accounting matters, and coordinate financial reporting across multiple Honda legal entities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and support North American financial close, consolidation, and intercompany eliminations.
• Research, analyze, and draft technical accounting memorandums under IFRS and U.S. GAAP.
• Execute financial reporting reconciliations, consolidated journal entries, and SOX internal controls.
• Coordinate financial audit evidence and inquiries with external auditors and parent company teams.
• Implement accounting automation tools to modernize financial reporting and shorten close cycles.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CPA eligibility strongly preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience across public accounting and private industry (4+ years public).
• Thorough knowledge of IFRS, U.S. GAAP, and multi-entity corporate consolidations.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel financial modeling proficiency and experience with financial reporting ERPs.
• Excellent analytical, technical writing, and cross-functional communication abilities.
