Join us as a Senior Financial Planning Analyst at Alaska Air Cargo

We are seeking a skilled Senior Financial Planning Analyst to join our team at Alaska Air Cargo. This role requires expertise in financial planning and analysis to support our strategic and operational goals.

Role Summary

The Financial Planning Analyst III is a subject matter expert in FP&A, exercising judgment to make decisions and provide recommendations that support cost-saving strategies and financial transparency.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Serve as a subject matter expert in FP&A.
  2. Facilitate procedural and technological improvements within FP&A to enhance efficiency and accountability.
  3. Provide ad-hoc analysis and insights to senior leadership to support financial goals.
  4. Manage monthly close processes, including profitability analysis and variance reporting.
  5. Develop financial models and reports for decision-making, including scenario analysis and benchmarking.
  6. Collaborate with various divisions to analyze and present on corporate initiatives.
  7. Assist in preparing and communicating budget goals and progress reports.
Minimum Qualifications
  • At least 4 years of experience in finance, accounting, investment banking, or related fields.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with NPV calculations, cash flow, and balance sheet metrics.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and reporting fundamentals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex concepts.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and adaptable to a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree.
  • Experience with VBA/SQL, Tableau, Cognos TM1, and PeopleSoft.
  • Knowledge of airline or transportation industry fundamentals.
Additional Information

This position is based in Seattle, WA, and offers a salary range of $97,200 to $145,800 annually, along with comprehensive benefits and employee travel privileges. The role is full-time, exempt, and requires authorization to work in the U.S.
