Job summary

Berkshire District Attorney’s Office in Massachusetts is seeking a Chief Fiscal Officer to oversee all financial accounting, reporting, and compliance for the office. The CFO will manage the annual budget, internal controls, and policy implementation to ensure funds are available for obligations.

Responsibilities include managing the district's current budget and vendor/payables, grants, contracts, payroll operations, and supervising fiscal staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance or related field.
• CPA or MBA preferred.
• At least ten years of full-time professional, supervisory or managerial experience in fiscal management.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of BDAO's current budget; control expenses and develop future projections.
• Oversee accounts payable, encumbrances, and vendor files per MA Comptroller rules.
• Handle all grants documentation and Interagency Service Agreements.
• Monitor contracts including leases and related payments.
• Oversee payroll operations and employee benefits management.
• Supervise fiscal support staff and related duties.
