Salary Range: $160,000.00 To $180,000.00 Annually

Position Summary:
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing all financial functions of the organization. This role ensures sound fiscal management, regulatory compliance, and strategic planning, and provides guidance for sustainable growth in support of the organization’s mission to deliver quality behavioral health services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and direct all accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, and auditing functions, ensuring accuracy with high-volume contracting and invoicing across multiple sites, contracts, and service lines.
• Develop and monitor annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial strategies.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, federal/state/local regulations, and nonprofit reporting standards.
• Prepare and deliver innovative, tech-savvy presentations of financial statements and reports to the Board of Directors, funders, and stakeholders, utilizing technology to clearly communicate complex financial data.
• Manage cash flow, investments, and risk management processes. Lead responsibility for the analysis and renewal of all insurance programs, including general liability, directors and officers, workers’ compensation, and employee health insurance plans.
• Supervise finance staff and manage payroll, benefits administration, and accounts payable/receivable.
• Lead the annual audit process and coordinate with external auditors.
• Oversee and manage all aspects of grant accounting, including pre- and post-award financial management, budget preparation for grant proposals, compliance with grant requirements, timely and accurate financial reporting to funders, monitoring of grant expenditures, and ensuring proper allocation and documentation of restricted funds. Collaborate with program staff to support grant applications, track spending, and respond to grantor inquiries or audits.
• Partner with executive leadership on financial planning, business development, and program expansion initiatives.
• Foster a culture of transparency and accountability within the finance department.
• Update job knowledge by staying current on new regulations; participating in professional opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining professional networks; and participating in relevant professional organizations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s or CPA preferred)
• Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with at least 3 years in a Senior leadership role
• Nonprofit financial management and grant accounting experience strongly preferred
• Proficient in SAGE accounting software and ADP payroll systems
• Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles and federal/state compliance requirements
• Tech-savvy with excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams

• Standard work hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with some evenings and weekends required as needed.
