Qualifications

  • Seven+ years of accounting and finance experience, including leadership of a nonprofit finance function.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
  • Experience with grants management, restricted funding, and reporting.
  • Experience overseeing cash flow, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Ability to explain financial information to leadership and the board.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee accounting, ledgers, reconciliations, and financial reporting per GAAP.
  • Lead annual and long-term budgeting and forecasting with leadership.
  • Explain results, cash needs, risks, and trends to the board and audit committee.
  • Oversee program and grant accounting, reporting to funders.
  • Develop cash flow projections, manage grants timing and reimbursements.
  • Maintain internal controls over revenue and expenditures.
  • Lead audit preparation and address findings.
  • Prepare timely financial reports for senior leadership and the board.
  • Partner with program managers to support operations financially.
  • Monitor invested assets per policy.
