Versique Executive, Professional & Interim Recruiting in the Twin Cities area seeks a Senior Financial Analyst to partner with engineering and manufacturing teams on long-term strategy. You will develop metrics, drive cost processes, and influence leadership to improve financial performance.

The role emphasizes hands-on analysis, process improvement, and collaboration across sites to achieve financial targets and operational excellence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive finance and manufacturing operations experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Experience developing and driving operational metrics, reporting, forecasting, capacity analysis, and risk mitigation with plant leadership.
  • Well-developed cost and managerial accounting expertise, including standard costing and project cost accounting.
  • Strong understanding of bills of materials, routings, manufacturing variances, and ERP interaction.

Responsibilities

  • Develop robust processes and reporting linking monthly operational activity to financial results.
  • Own redevelopment of the standard cost process including labor rates, routings, material costs, and annual roll.
  • Partner with Finance across sites to share best practices and drive change.
  • Enhance daily to quarterly reporting metrics for plant performance and support commitments.
  • Track and support savings targets for key capital investments.
  • Prepare analyses for capital investments and sourcing decisions; develop reusable tools.
  • Own the engineering invoicing process and final review before client invoices.
  • Coordinate with Program Management and Engineering to meet milestones on time and budget.
  • Forecast risks and work with leadership on action plans.

Job description

Senior Financial Analyst

The Senior Financial Analyst will serve as a strategic thought partner to the engineering and manufacturing teams, supporting the development and execution of long-term operational strategy. This highly visible, hands-on role will create and monitor key financial and operational metrics, provide analysis for significant business decisions, and drive initiatives that improve processes and financial performance. The successful candidate will combine strong manufacturing finance expertise with an action-oriented, collaborative approach.

Twin Cities metro area - Hybrid opportunity.

Salary Range

$100K-$145K/yr. base salary, depending on qualifications and experience.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Develop robust processes and reporting that clearly connect monthly operational activity to financial results.
  • Own and lead the redevelopment of the standard cost process, including labor rates, routings, material costs, and the annual standard cost roll.
  • Partner with Finance colleagues across multiple sites to share best practices and drive change, process improvement, and organizational agility.
  • Enhance and develop daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting metrics and tools for plant performance, and support delivery of Operations commitments.
  • Track and support achievement of savings targets associated with key capital investments.
  • Prepare sound financial analyses for capital investments and sourcing decisions, while developing tools that can be leveraged for future projects.
  • Own the engineering group invoicing process, including final review before invoices are sent to clients.
  • Partner with Program Management and Engineering to ensure development program milestones are achieved on time and within budget.
  • Anticipate operational and financial risks using forecasts, capacity data, performance trends, and other key metrics; partner with leadership on measurable action plans.
  • Drive business initiatives, process improvements, and problem-solving efforts that result in stronger financial performance.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • At least seven years of progressive finance and manufacturing operations experience in an industrial manufacturing environment; contract manufacturing, engineering, machining, or molding experience is preferred.
  • Strong experience developing and driving operational metrics, reporting, forecasting, capacity analysis, and risk mitigation in partnership with plant or operations leadership.
  • Well-developed cost and managerial accounting expertise, including standard costing and project cost accounting.
  • Strong understanding of bills of materials, routings, manufacturing variances, and how each interacts with ERP systems, including the ability to communicate issues and corrective actions.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving ability, sound judgment, proactive organization, and a strong bias for action.
  • Ability to translate analyses and performance metrics into clear, concise, and compelling business insights.
  • Proven ability to influence operational leaders, identify opportunities, and develop measurable action plans with senior site leadership.
  • Understanding of Operational Excellence and Lean tools and how to apply them to improve business performance.
  • Strong internal and external customer focus, communication skills, and a personable, engaging working style.
  • Documented success leading business or organizational change; experience doing so in more than one organization is preferred.
