Job summary

Vaco Recruiter Services seeks a hands-on Senior Financial Analyst to drive FP&A for manufacturing units, owning budgets and forecasts, while analyzing KPIs and capital projects. You will consolidate multiple systems, support operations and corporate finance, and deliver actionable insights to improve forecast accuracy and capital allocation.

The role requires advanced financial modeling, CapEx/CIP experience, and a track record in manufacturing finance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive FP&A or financial analysis experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong experience supporting manufacturing operations with ownership of budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Demonstrated expertise managing capital expenditure planning and Capital in Progress (CIP) accounting and reporting.
  • Advanced financial modeling and analytical capabilities.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex modeling, pivot tables, Power Query, and data analysis.
  • Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, or similar enterprise platforms.
  • Experience with planning tools such as Hyperion, OneStream, Anaplan, Adaptive Planning, or similar is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing cost structures, fixed and variable costs, and operational performance metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Own the annual budget, quarterly forecasts, and monthly financial outlook for assigned business unit P&L accounts.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of all operational and financial drivers impacting assigned expense and revenue lines, serving as the primary financial SME for those areas.
  • Partner with manufacturing, operations, engineering, procurement, and business leaders to identify trends, risks, and opportunities affecting financial performance.
  • Perform monthly variance analysis comparing actual results against budget, forecast, and prior year performance, providing meaningful explanations and actionable recommendations.
  • Build and maintain sophisticated financial models to support planning, scenario analysis, and strategic decision-making.
  • Lead the financial planning and reporting process for capital expenditures, ensuring accurate forecasting, tracking, and reporting of CapEx investments.
  • Monitor and reconcile Capital in Progress (CIP) balances, partnering with project managers and accounting to ensure timely capitalization and compliance with accounting policies.
  • Analyze capital project performance, spending trends, ROI, and project timing to improve capital allocation decisions.
  • Support long-range planning initiatives through financial modeling, sensitivity analysis, and investment analysis.
  • Prepare executive‑level reporting packages, dashboards, and presentations highlighting key financial metrics and operational performance.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities that enhance forecasting accuracy, reporting efficiency, and financial visibility.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Finance to ensure consistency with enterprise planning processes and reporting requirements.
  • Assist with month‑end close activities related to assigned business units, including accrual reviews and financial analysis.
  • Support special projects involving operational improvements, systems implementations, and business transformation initiatives.

Senior Financial Analyst

Richardson, TX – hybrid, 3 days onsite.

Looking for a hands‑on Senior Analyst to support business unit and manufacturing finance for manufacturing‑associated items and business units. Will be heavily involved in analyzing KPIs, margin analysis and systems (must be comfortable working with multiple systems- currently undergoing a consolidation, compiling 6 systems into one).

This role partners closely with Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Corporate Finance to provide actionable insights, improve forecast accuracy, and support strategic capital investments. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment, possesses exceptional financial modeling skills, and has extensive experience managing capital expenditures (CapEx) and Construction/Capital in Progress (CIP).

Compensation: $90-110K + Bonus

Key Responsibilities
