Ember Search, a hybrid finance advisory firm in New York City, seeks a Director of Strategic Finance & Advisory to lead a portfolio of client relationships with the autonomy of an in-house finance executive.

You will drive M&A diligence, equity and debt raises, and embedded FP&A—building complex models from scratch and delivering decision-ready outputs under live deal timelines. The role operates on-site three days weekly, in a self-funded, profitable environment.

Qualifications

• 6 to 10+ years of experience, starting in banking or PE, followed by in-house operating roles
• Prior operating role at Series B+ or growth-stage company
• Strong financial modeling and analytical rigor in fast-paced environments
• Track record turning messy processes into decision-ready outputs
• Able to manage multiple client relationships across industries and deal types

Responsabilités

• Lead client-facing finance workstreams across M&A diligence, equity and debt raises
• Build and own complex financial models from scratch under live deal timelines
• Drive FP&A, budgeting and operating model work inside client organizations
• Partner with senior client teams while managing multiple engagements
• Manage day-to-day client relationships with in-house finance leadership authority
• Support growing investing activity by deploying firm balance sheet capital
