Job summary

BMO Harris Bank is seeking an experienced Finance Controller/Operations Leader in Cedar Rapids, IA, to manage day-to-day controllership activities across loan administration and servicing. The role partners with Finance, Accounting, Treasury, and Operations to ensure SLAs and data accuracy, while driving process improvements and stakeholder value.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in finance/controllership, solid regulatory knowledge, and strong communication skills to influence senior leaders.

Qualifications

• Typically 7+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge and experience using relevant systems and technology - Expert.
• Knowledge and understanding of the business unit's key products and services, processes and controls - Expert.
• Knowledge of the risk and regulatory requirements of the business - Expert.
• Prioritization skills - In-depth.
• PC skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) - Expert.
• Accounting or Finance experience
• Management & leadership experience is an asset.
• Experience with Datascan, PMS, and/or InfoLease is an asset.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Seasoned professional with a combination of education, experience and industry knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provides day-to-day delivery of critical operations finance controllership processes including loan administration and servicing activities.
• Supports the balancing of ledgers, payments, transactions, etc.
• Collaborates with stakeholders to promote efficient and effective processes and work flow.
• Builds interdependent teams that collaborate across functional and operating groups.
• Manages resources and leads the execution of strategic initiatives to deliver on business and financial goals.
• Leads the development of the communication strategy focusing on positively influencing or changing behaviour.
• Oversees the design, development, and implementation of tools and training required to deliver business results.
• Provides accurate and timely processing of service requests, transactions, activities, etc.
