Job summary

MBE CPAs seeks a Controller to lead the firm’s financial organization, overseeing accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting for the main firm and affiliates. The role partners with leadership to drive strategic decisions, optimization, and long-term sustainability across multiple entities.

The successful candidate will bring strong analytical skills, leadership experience, and proficiency with financial systems.

Qualifications

Seven to ten years of progressively responsible accounting and finance experience.
At least three years of leadership or management experience.
Significant experience overseeing budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, audits, and internal controls.
Thorough understanding of GAAP and financial management best practices.
Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

Direct all accounting operations for MBE CPAs and affiliated entities.
Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed asset management.
Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Maintain compliance with GAAP.
Lead month-end and year-end close processes.
Coordinate annual audits and preparation of required financial reports and tax filings.
Ensure financial reporting accuracy and transparency across all entities.
Lead cash flow forecasting and liquidity management.
