Job summary

Intertek, a global quality and safety solutions provider, seeks a Senior Field Technician for construction materials testing in Chesapeake, Virginia. You will perform testing, observe site activities, and report results under supervision to support project success.

Requirements include 5+ years of materials testing experience and relevant certifications, plus ability to work off-hours, lift heavy loads, and operate outdoors in varying weather.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of related materials testing experience required.
• At least one of the following certifications required: ACI Field, ATTI Field, ICC Reinforced Concrete, ICC Soils Special Inspector or ACI Special Inspector.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record.
• Ability to work off shift and overtime as needed.
• Ability to lift/move 30–50 lbs frequently; over 50 lbs with assistance.
• Ability to communicate detailed information clearly in English.

Responsibilities

• Operate testing equipment for soil, concrete or other materials and report results.
• Read and interpret plans, specifications and diagrams.
• Maintain and calibrate standard equipment.
• Perform complex assignments and detailed site observations with limited interpretation.
• Maintain detailed documentation and data from test results.
• Attend project meetings and communicate with clients and project teams.
