Job summary

Intertek is seeking a Senior Field Technician to join our Chesapeake, VA team. The role involves performing testing on construction materials, observing site activities, and providing data-driven assessments under supervision.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of related materials testing experience is required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable driving record.
• Ability to work off shift and overtime as needed.
• Ability to lift/move 30–50 pounds frequently and over 50 pounds with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Operate testing equipment and conduct testing (soil, concrete, etc.) and report data.
• Read and interpret plans, specifications, and diagrams.
• Maintain and calibrate standard equipment.
• Perform complex assignments and provide detailed site observations and limited interpretation of results.
• Maintain detailed documentation and data from test results.
• Attend project meetings and communicate effectively with clients and project teams.
