Job summary

Epitome Networks is seeking a highly skilled, versatile Senior Systems Service Technician to lead our service department for the Harrisonburg market.

You will be the primary technical responder for our commercial, hospitality, and healthcare clients—diagnosing and repairing everything from legacy and hosted VoIP telephone networks to electronic access control, commercial IP cameras, nurse call infrastructure, and physical network cabling.

Qualifications

• Current Virginia DCJS registration (Electronic Security Technician) preferred, or the immediate ability to pass the DCJS fingerprinting and criminal background check to obtain registration.
• This is a strict requirement for employment.
• 3+ years of hands-on field service experience in telecom, low-voltage, or electronic security industries.
• Ability to walk up to an unfamiliar or broken system, use diagnostic tools (meters, testers, software logs), and trace the problem logically.
• Deep familiarity with hosted VoIP routing, network switches, subnets, and legacy analog/digital phone systems.
• Experience troubleshooting electronic strikes, magnetic locks, card readers, and IP cameras.
• Proficiency in diagnosing physical layer issues, including Cat6 and fiber optic terminations/splicing.

Responsibilities

• Triage, diagnose, repair and maintain multi-vendor systems on-site.
• Service and maintain cloud-hosted voice systems (Phonesuite, Simplicity, 8x8, Intermedia) including legacy NEC PBX support.
