Job summary

Surveying And Mapping, LLC (SAM) seeks an experienced land survey crew chief to lead field operations across boundary, topographic, and construction surveys. You will plan data acquisition, read plans, and ensure accurate field notes and reporting while coordinating with project managers and clients.

Ideal candidate has 5+ years in surveying, proficiency with Trimble gear, GNSS, and 3D laser scanners, and the ability to travel as needed. Outdoor work year-round is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industry experience; prior crew chief experience preferred.
• Competent operating robotic total stations, GNSS receivers, data radios/modems, terrestrial 3D laser scanners, automatic and digital levels, tablet PCs.
• Experience with Trimble equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a land survey crew for field operations including boundary, topographic, and construction layout.
• Determine efficient plan of action for data acquisition for field surveys.
• Read and interpret construction drawings/plans and understand project specs and tolerances.
• Communicate daily with project managers, engineers, and technicians on schedules and progress.
• Interact professionally with client representatives and landowners.
• Document all phases of land survey operations and prepare daily reports and time sheets.
• Maintain survey vehicle and field equipment; follow safety procedures.
