Job summary

Surveying And Mapping, LLC (SAM) is seeking a skilled Survey Crew Chief to lead daily field operations, ensuring safety, accuracy, and timely data collection on projects nationwide. The role demands strong leadership and practical surveying know-how with total stations and GNSS.

This position requires supervising crews, coordinating with project staff, and visiting various sites; familiarity with Trimble equipment is preferred, and ability to travel as needed is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous crew chief experience in surveying.
• Experience with total stations and GNSS receivers.
• Willingness to travel and work in various terrains.

Responsibilities

• Plan and oversee field surveys including control, construction layout, and as-built surveys.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, including sketches and daily reports.
• Communicate with Project Surveyors and team members to align with project schedules.
• Represent SAM professionally when interacting with clients and landowners.
• Read and interpret construction drawings to meet tolerances and standards.
• Ensure vehicles, instruments, and field equipment are maintained and calibrated.
• Support project and team success by performing additional duties as needed.
