Job summary

Clark Construction Group is seeking an experienced Superintendent in Chicago, IL to lead field operations on large commercial projects. You will oversee self-performed and contracted work, manage safety and quality, and ensure projects meet schedule and budget targets.

The role requires 7+ years on large projects, strong leadership, and expertise in scheduling, contract administration, and safety (OSHA). Expect a dynamic, hands-on environment on active job sites and office coordination.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, a related discipline, or relevant work experience.
• 7+ years of experience working on large-scale commercial construction projects.
• Experience building high-rise residential, mixed-use, or higher education projects from start to finish.
• 2+ years leading, developing, and motivating teams.
• In-depth knowledge of the construction process including scheduling, contract administration, equipment, and personnel.
• Demonstrated experience leading field operations and communicating plans effectively across multiple audiences.
• Working knowledge of applicable safety and building regulations (OSHA).

Responsibilities

• Oversee the timely and quality installation of contracted work for the project scope or trade contractor.
• Implement a culture of safety and quality among Clark employees and trade contractors and conduct regular safety inspections.
• Create and manage a plan to sequence work, manage jobsite logistics, and track materials and personnel.
• Ensure high quality of work in line with project and company standards.
• Lead, mentor, and develop team members to build a high-performing team.
• Develop, update, and communicate the project schedule and critical milestones with stakeholders.
• Cultivate relationships with project stakeholders and maintain professionalism in meetings.
• Understand owner contracts, subcontracts, and vendor agreements.
• Participate in close-out activities including punch lists and building operations training.
• Identify and recruit top industry talent to join Clark team.
